The John Glenn School

The John Glenn School of Public Affairs prepares students for careers in the public and non-profit sectors. The School offers two Master's degree programs, a Doctoral program and a variety of dual and joint degree programs in collaboration with other Ohio State University colleges and departments. School faculty members and students conduct and disseminate research on policy issues of immediate and long-term interest.

The School's continuing education programs offer management and leadership training for public sector and non-profit employees. Internship programs and co-curricular activities provide opportunities for graduate, undergraduate, and high school students to experience the complex world of policy options and decisions. Through its outreach and civic engagement activities, the School engages the public in the exploration of citizenship and the role of the public sector in a civil society. The School, together with University Libraries, is home to the John Glenn Archives.

Our Mission

As more people get information from YouTube, Twitter and other non-traditional sources, newsrooms need journalists who understand how to tell compelling public affairs stories in cutting edge ways.

That's why the Kiplinger Program in Public Affairs Journalism is dedicated to helping journalists unite rigorous reporting with digital storytelling — so they can learn how to engage in social media and develop innovative online projects that inform wide audiences.
